Frequently asked questions

The things people usually ask before they start.

How long does the course actually take?+

Six hours of credited time, the state minimum for a Texas driving safety course. It can be split across as many sessions as you want — the timer pauses when you step away.

Can I stop and come back later?+

Yes. The clock pauses after a couple of minutes of no activity or when the tab is backgrounded, and resumes exactly where you left off, even days later.

What if I fail a quiz or the final exam?+

There's no cap on retakes. Failing a level's quiz repeats that level — the time for it is reclaimed so you can't bank hours by failing on purpose. Failing the final exam lets you retake it once you're ready.

What devices does it work on?+

Phone, tablet, or computer, in a browser. Progress is tied to your account, not the device.

Is this course regulated?+

Yes — Texas driving safety courses are regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). See the footer for our current provider licence status.

Am I eligible to take this course to dismiss my ticket?+

That's decided by the court that issued your citation, not by us — courts set their own rules on which violations and drivers qualify (for example, some exclude commercial licence holders or repeat requests within a set period). Check your citation paperwork or call the court's traffic clerk to confirm you're eligible before you enroll.

How much time do I have to complete the course after my citation?+

Your court sets the deadline, and it's printed on the paperwork they gave you — it's commonly a few months from your court date, but this varies by court. Confirm your exact deadline with the court directly; a certificate submitted after it won't count toward dismissal.

How do I claim my insurance discount after finishing?+

Most insurers just need a copy of your certificate. Download it from your dashboard once you pass, then send it to your agent or upload it through your insurer's app or site. The discount amount and how long it lasts depends on your insurer and policy, so ask them directly what they offer.

How do I get a refund?+

Email us any time before you start the final exam and we'll refund the course in full.

How does a court or insurer verify my certificate?+

At /verify, with the certificate number and verification code printed on the certificate. It returns the student's name, licence last four, credited time, and issue date.
